  1. ImYaPapiChulo says:

@wubs23 its all about repetition, i know of a guy who does only calisthenics but his routine is intense and hard, 1000 reps for most of his excercises and he’s bigger nad way more ripped then all the dudes at the gym pumping iron

  2. ImYaPapiChulo says:

@8orikua nope you can build mass with calisthenics only no protein mo weights, i mean GOT DAMN PEOPLE do some research on calisthenics, and you’ll see that hit isn’t lying there are plenty of articles discussin the debate of calisthenics vs weights

  3. 8orikua says:

so you saying i can really build muscle with just calisthenics? i gues take protein too huh ?

  4. wubs23 says:

so how would you gain mass by bodyweight exercises? there is no way to increase the weights?

  5. 7777777roflcopter says:

    @Vomerta
nobody can give you a routine for you over internet. ppl will say “hear on your body” and thats the correct answer…
i think people like HIT are training all over the day, every day, but they increased the amount of their training over years (HIT is training 16 years now i’ve read)…
hope you understand my bad english :)

  6. conrifor says:

When you are gaining mass, how would you have to increase in weight since you are just mainly using your bodyweight?

  7. Vomerta says:

Amazing. Mr. Richards, do you work out your entire body each workout or do you do a split? Can you recommend a routine or give any advice on routine to an intermediate/beginner? Thanks!

  8. comradesbl says:

    Thats incredible.

  9. comradesbl says:

@calisthenicskingz , Great one, thats real impressive, I did not know you could achive such mass with cals, I thought it would be done with weights!! wow, good luck in your training, I assume you did, but I was wrong. Thanks dude.

  10. calisthenicskingz says:

@comradesbl yes you are absolutely WRONG, i did not use weights to get my mass strictly calisthenics.

  11. comradesbl says:

Those muscles look like they have been pumped up with weights, calisthenics would not build that big muscles. OR NOT?? I am wrong?

  12. PowerDrink100 says:

    12Pack!? hahahahaha

  13. stardingo747 says:

the reason wrestlers are muscular, at least the top guys who do it a lot, has to do with the fact that wrestling operates on the same principles advocated by Charles Atlas.

Well before the Atlas system was invented, wrestlers were doing “dynamic tension,” at least against each other. Wrestling is a very well known strength developer, problem is, it does not specifically target muscles.

oh yeah, one last thing; good job dude.

  14. stardingo747 says:

can the Atlas system build muscle?

haven’t done it for 2 months yet so I don’t know, and I won’t get a chance to either, at least not 2 months straight, every day like Atlas instructs.

I personally think it works though, for a very good reason; high level college wrestlers are generally muscular, and they only “resistance” they get, is the other guy. In many ways, Atlas dynamic tension, works much the same way as wrestling.

  15. stardingo747 says:

the charles atlas system is a hybrid of cals and body isometrics.

If I had to call dynamic tension something, it would be “body isometrics.”

that whole “angle” thing is a myth; however it is better to do isometrics against your own body, than an imovable surface.

the reason the atlas system is not true isometrics, is because the resisting limb, can never provide 100% resistance, there is some “give.”

  16. tfkime says:

Youre absolutly right man, i stopped gym for 2 weeks had a break and started calisthenics and quit gym for good

In two months i wal also doing hanf stand and can do handstand pushups my abs are better with less work and my body is better and i am 100000 times stronger.

  17. ousseynoundy says:

@rmsolympic1 the Harlem Seals did a video with this guy.

  18. tylerjamesr says:

I love that quote, “I didn’t invent it, I perfected it.”

  19. stardingo747 says:

this video is not BSing; my senior year of high school I gave up weight training in favor of cals, did 2 hours of cals every day, okay, not every day, roughly 4 days a week and in only 2 months time, pretty soon I was strong enough to do hand stand push ups. No….. cals builds up strength pretty fast.

I personally prefer Charles Atlas chair dips, or whatever variation.

  20. supasaiyn says:

what is meant by “inner strength”

do they mean core muscle or mentally

  21. rmsolympic1 says:

I am rather new to this fitness phenomenon, but it looks like a number of groups – the Harlem Seals, Constellation, the Bartendaz, and this group – have sprung up. Are they all in New York, and are they connected? Anyway, I like this guy. He has, for lack of better words, an angelic, immortal physique and a winning attitude worthy of it. I can see him and his ilk helping to inspire truly health living in inner-city America, let alone, perhaps in time and given growth and positive

  22. HellRzer says:

yo when i saw this vid i said the same shit Hannibal vs this guy crazy i never seen the flagpole press!!

  23. webbyman says:
