A Patch might help NBA 2K9
This is a first hand look at NBA Elite 11. Just like their NHL games, EA has made it their focal point to give the user as much control of their player as humanly possible. So far the game looks really good. However like all EA games in the past, you always have to be skeptical. You said it DMcnabb5. Sports games started to suck with the 360 and PS3. I’m not going to include the Wii, because I think the Wii still has good sports games. But the only systems I play now are PS2, Original Xbox, and the Wii (for gamecube games). It’s just amazing to me how the 360 and PS3 have ruined sports games. Games were so much fun on PS2 and Original Xbox. I say “were” but games still “are” great on the those systems. Don’t bother playing the trash on the 360. Keep the PS2 games alive
The best basketball game made was Kobe Bryant NBA Courtside (the first one) for N64 and NBA Jam for SNES.. After that, I’ve never enjoyed playing NBA Live or any other one.

i totally agree about nba 2k8 being the best, i mean i like 2k9 but they ruined the isomotion, totally ruined it it was perfect before now its pretty poor, and the ball morphing thing is very annoying, but its still good not great. madden 04 was THE best

2k9 crossovers (live 09 buttons for it, way easier)
live 09 defense lockdown

2k9 shooting (how players actually shoot in real life)
2k9 realism
live 09 overall button scheme (mixed with some 2k9 stuff)
live 09 dunks (mixed with 2k9′s dunk realism)
2k9 gravity =P

Besides the freezing, I thought madden was ok
It’s our fault as consumers really. We are the lemmings who every year even though we know that it will be underpar run to our local gamestore to purchase the yearly iterations of what are essentially the same game. With online and harddrives there is no reason that we cannot have a two to five year cycle for these games. Get a good rock solid gameplay engine first then have periodic graphic or content updates to keep it fresh. Charge 10-15 bucks a pop and I would be happy.

@78kobe That “Goran Dragic Move” is called the Euro-Step, Dwyane Wade uses it, Tyreke Evans uses it, Manu uses it…even I use it when I play basketball. It’s a really useful move if you execute it properly.

EA is wack. look forward to them being wack for years to come. All about the money. 2K’s no better though.
the controls in this game are sick, but 2k will be running real time physics as well, so got to wait until demos release, but EA really need to crank up the graphics and animation, 2k need to crank up the custom accessories

From what we’ve heard so far, NBA Elite 11 seems to have jumped miles in terms of innovation, with the physics and the controls. For once EA might actually be telling the truth!
NBA 2K10 had the graphics and the AI for me, so is Elite has improved on that, then this will be the best NBA game yet hands down.

if the 5 on 5 is as good as this practice gym stuff then this will probably be the best nba game ever made. especially with lives dynamic dna, espn integration, and all the extra jerseys and shoes they have. no matter what 2k people say animations will get beat out by user control any day.
@1714gmen yeah, and 2k got the G.O.A.T to appear on their cover. 2k must be shaking like hell NOT. But more to the substance, it really looks like a good game here actually. shooting’s gonna be very fun. though i think the dribbling moves will be a tad hard to master. but overall, nice progress by EA. Kind of dissapointing if they screw up again.
