Silvestre is close to joining Bremen from Arsenal
French defender Mikael Silvestre is close to signing a two-year contract at Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on a free transfer from Arsenal. The 33-year-old Silvestre, who has also played for Manchester United and made 40 appearances for France, arrived at Bremen on Monday after being released in the offseason by Arsenal.
