Fishing the North Coast: Eureka salmon best bet for the weekend
If the weekend forecast holds true, salmon may be the only option for offshore anglers headed out of Eureka. Not that it’s a bad thing, as I’ve heard a few of the charter boat captains say they have a good idea where some salmon are located.

The lake level was 658.6 (660 is normal pool level); with light generation scheduled the lake should hold there through the weekend. Surface temperature at Bagnell Dam is 86 degrees with upstream temperatures of 88 to 92 degrees depending on time of day. The thermocline is still 20 to 25-feet deep in most areas.
