Anerson silva has done pro boxing fights. KJ Noons is a pro boxer as well. there are many other cross overs as well. what makes this so interesting is that two legends are coming together to fight

@boxingfanofthegame Who said the UFC really wanted to do Boxing vs MMA? It’s Toney who was begging the UFC to let them in, not the other way around. If a boxer goes into an MMA ring it’s his own shit. No one is forcing them.

@KHLB516 That’s because it’s mostly boxers who are doing all the shit talking about MMA. A boxer can outbox an MMA fighter in Boxing, but it’s not MMA fighters saying that they can outbox a boxer. It’s boxers saying that they can “destroy” an MMA fighter. Either way, for all the shit talking boxers do about other styles, they are the ones that rarely test themselves against them. So their “superior striking” is still an unproven myth. Popularity doesn’t mean effectiveness.

@KHLB516 My point is not on whether he makes more in Boxing or not; if he is really a fighter he would prove himself. He likes to talk all sort of shit, saying that MMA is worthless and no MMA fighter is on his level, etc. but is he walking the walk? Toney on the other hand, although as hate-able as he is, is at least putting his money where his mouth is. Mayweather Jr is just pussyfooting, he is like the guy that talks shit only on Myspace but is all bark.

Not only did they give James Tony the privlege to fight a legend like Randy Couture, but they are now agreed to fight at Heavyweight (Randy Couture said himself at his current age he is better at Light Heavyweight). I really hope Randy Couture beats James Toney, as if James wins then he is just going to get cocky and the media will lap it up. Although i wish Randy couture to win, I want to see James Toney fight after with someone like Dos-Santos or Carwin. That would be a good fight.
