@inpugnaveritaas How so?
@thefightingclub1 No one knows who David Haye is.
Boxing sucks. When Floyd and Pacman retire…it is over.
@thefightingclub1 haye is not that popular
@Elmatador525 to be honest its a new era in boxing you can no longer hype a guy up and put him in there for a world tite and expect him to win if he hasnt been tested when promoters in boxing stop caring about money and start caring about making real contenders is when it will come back like that video the new faces of boxing all those guys didnt do a damn thing to push the sport forward they either lost or trying to recover from a loss
i’m english i did not no that boxer
Despite my being a big boxing fan, Dana White and the interviewer make good points. I may be biased, but let’s face it – a good boxing match shits all over a good MMA fight.
However, good boxing fights (on PPV or otherwise) are becoming fairly rare as far as the general public are concerned and they are thus interest is being lost.
Hopefully someone with deep pockets who has made their money from the sport (King,Arum, De la Hoya, Buffer) actually puts a sizable chunk back into the sport.
he doesnt know who david haye is, he talks shit and couldnt answer the question. Boxing guy my arse
@MIATeddyBear im a boxer and i think that boxing is dying cuz there is no way a european fighter will be as huge as any Mexican or black fighter.
Mexicans and Black fighter are the real attractions. u always get the biggest fights when u match them up.
Dana White knows who David Hayes is. I guarantee he knows who the heavyweight champs are in boxing.
More proof Dana white is a nothing little bitch.
@feedmetwinkies Wow, a thought out and intelligent response on YouTube? I applaud you! And I do agree that boxing has taken a serious hit in the US… and will probably never return to the way it used to be. I just don’t think you can say that a sport is dying when they’re pulling numbers like that.
And also, thanks for the insight on Dana White and holding UFC events in huge stadiums. I never knew he said that.
@MIATeddyBear Boxing is a great sport but the promoters have really hurt it in the US- I love the sport but I hate the BS us politics. As far as a UFC event drawing 51k+. Dana White has said he will never have an event in a huge stadium- He wants everyone to be able to see the fight no matter where they sit. I agree I saw a fight at MSG in the 1980′s and I couldn’t see crap- My old man paid $75 for seats back then. Saw a UFC event in vegas paid $50 and had ok seats.
Boxing will go away?? Klitschko v. Chambers in March of this year had an attendance of 51,500! UFC has yet to see anywhere near those numbers!! Boxing is not dying, it’s simply moving over to Eastern Europe, where they’re making TONS of money on the sport!
@scott090919 Jones has immense talent, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be a superstar. If it’s all about talent, then boxing has plenty of up and comers. Not many are American though.
No need for a truce since we’ve got no beef.
It’s just discussion. All fun.
@JasonTO nxt mma megastar jon ‘bones’ jones, but still it appears we aint gettin nowhere. truce?
Boxing has no clear American PPV king on deck, but it certainly has talent, both in the ring and in marketability. The sport has never been stronger overseas.
Finally, Mayweather-De la Hoya fought in 2007. Floyd has resided in welterweight for two years at that point, at which time DLH moved to Junior Welterweight. When were they supposed to fight?
What difference does the era make? The point is, when one PPV heavyweight stepped down, another stepped up. This is the crux of the discussion. Why throw in an irrelevant wild card like era?
Do you know who the next MMA megastar will be? Could you have anticipated Brock Lesnar’s success? What GSP before he fought in the UFC? Could you have known he’d be a potential million-buy man? The point is you can’t. You can’t predict these things, just like people have failed in predicting boxing’s demise
@scott090919 You said Couture-Toney is a potentional million-buy fight. If it was, it’d be a stand-alone main event. And no boxing fan thinks Toney has a chance. In fact, the only fans who do are MMA followers, who are naive of what exactly Toney amounts to at this point in his career.
And what’s changed? I’m not going to give the sport the benefit of the doubt on cracking a million. Certainly not to the extent you are. Simply saying they’re huge won’t do it.
@Denver1928 but u wanna see it.
@JasonTO course its a support fight. in mma there is the main event n a good card is built round it. i only stated couture/toney cos more boxing fans will expect a toney ko and tune in. a lots changed in 20 events regarding gsp n penn. a gsp/silva bout is huge as is aldo/penn when he moves up. thats why.
floyd,manny n oscar were all part of the same era. only in the last few years have they began to meet one another. take pacquaio n mayweather out of boxing n there is nothing, really nothing
@JasonTO Toney-Coulture is a very sad fight for both sports.
@JasonTO I’d say Paul Williams has to up his weight pretty soon. The guy would probably jump the ropes for a doughnut.
i wish hardy didnt stop fighting after that match…
whats the song called in the beggining of the video,it sounds cool
@ziNtUiTioN Funny, but true. My comment may have been facetious, but it was true nonetheless. Hardy had no takedown defense, or it just wasn’t good enough for George’s takedowns….but not too many people have what it takes to avoid a GSP double leg.
@ChanseDillavou Thats pretty funny…dumbass
Hardy may not have done a lot in that fight, but his spirit and will not to submit were amazing to behold in their own right. That fight got me excited to see more of Hardy, now that he has an idea of what it means to be a challenger.
bad boyzzzz…
@jonusuarz13 he won by points he didnt even really hit him.
GSP’s armbar is very tough!!
Maybe Hardy’s focus should have been to put hip to mat as many times as possible so that he didn’t get taken down every time he was on his feet lol
@HackerBoy003 lol….da-dur.
Does anyone else think Hardy sounds like absolute Shit! Lol. And G S Pierre says “I don’t want to only win I want to take him OUT!!” Lool dayum right bye bye hardy harr harr lmaoo
@YourWeedSucks Indeed Dan Hardy has been dominated : /
@HackerBoy003, he already lost.
for me HARDY WELL DESTROY HIM
GSP that was a great fight. You neutralized Dan Hardy, and you stayed with your game plan. You used your common sense. All the people who talked trash about you are not real MMA, or GSP fan. The ones that booed you are bunch of idiots, and they are a disgrace. Dan Hardy did not even land a punch. He was out muscled, out skilled, and everything.
was it a good fight?
also does anyone know where i can watch th actual fight? please contact me
”When I put a beating on the feet” Yeah ..Sprawl and have some proper takedowndefense ffs ..
I know that GSP is the best when it comes to takedowns but it seemed that Hardy didn’t even try .
Have a lot of respect for Hardy though. Lot of guys would have probably tapped twice in that fight .
if he wants to walk out with his pijamas thats fine XD lol fuckin dude
Go watch K1 instead. all they do is stand up, that would probably suit you better. This is MMA, not kickboxing. and if you call that laying on top of them you need your vision checked. Georges was putting on a fuckin clinic, and you wouldn’t even be posting if Hardy tapped out in the first round. So please stop, you just sound like an idiot.
You found a guy that got absolutely dominated more exciting to watch?. If you’re into guys laying on their back, getting tossed around like rag dolls, and grimacing in pain with submissions you need to get your head checked.
sed
@TwoSwift651
GSP MY NIGGA!!!! yes sometimes his fights are boring to watch…however mark my words he will defend that belt AT LEAST 10 more times before anyone can beat him!!! If anyone can beat him he might retire wearing that belt…
I found Hardy more exciting to watch than GSP actually. Hardy has the heart. GSP takedowns were good. ground and pound =fail, submission= EPIC fail. I use to enjoy watching GSP fight back in the days, but now he’s boring….and its just my opinion, dont get too crazy.
If GSP wants to be a boring fighter fine, watch his fanbase shrink. Its not about him its about the fans. Fans wanna see an exciting fight. If he wants to roll on the ground for 5 rounds, he should at least be able to submit his opponent…not just lay on top of em’.
