Do you also think it was fair for fans to boo and get on Anderson Silva for not finishing two fights even though he’d won all his fights by Knock outs? I am guessing you don’t think it was fair but it happened. Dana even talked to silva about it. Now it’s only fair for dana to have a talk with GSP about it.
I dont think GSP will have to grind out any more decisions,there were 2 moments in the last fight where he was within an instant of pulling off a Sub, u know just about any1 else woulda tapped. GSP can finish just about any1 in the WW div xcept maybe Fitch. So is that fair to Georges?, that he becomes less marketable because he is so unstoppable? I think fans should support good fighters not necessarily entertaining fighters. They deserve it more.
@wherewhenwhat There you go. Dana is a fight fan himself who appreciates great competition. But he is also running a business first and foremost. If GSP develops a reputation of a grind out decision winning type fighter, I guarantee you his PPV numbers will begin to descend BIG TIME. I, for one, will not spend another dime on his fights at 170LBS because there is no one there that could challenge him or force him to strike.

@wherewhenwhat Very valid point. However, the fact is that the people who make up the Bulk of PPV buys in MMA or any other PPV event are usually casual fans looking to be entertained by KOs. I know, it’s stupid, but it’s a fact. Hardcore fans can all get together at one point and buy a PPV card, i guarantee U it won’t be a million buys. Even in the days of tyson when he sold 1.5MIL PPV for his fights, who do you think made up the bulk of that, hardcore boxing fans? Hell No. This is a BUSINESS.

“put on a show” …theres a problem with that, and it should be obvious, It gets in the way of winning. What the casual fans consider a to be entertaining is not necessarily skillful or praise worthy. GSP should keep doing exactly what he does, and if people dont like it theyre not real fans. its not a damn exhibition.

Damn it Josh, you fell for the UFC hype also. Yes Carwin has finished all his twelve fights in the first round but they weren’t all tko/ko’s. He has four subs and one sub due to strikes.
I don’t agree with Osbourne on that GSP had the same game plan this time. Normally he goes mostly for GnP but this time it was mostly BJJ. His corner even told him to stand up inside the guard and GnP instead of passing but GSP still passed guard and kept going for the submission. As he said himself he probably went a bit too much for it and would have had it easier to submit Hardy if he had punched him a bit more first.
GSP could go up to 185 against decent competition and put it all on the line (obviously excluding his 170 belt) and have a KO win…revive his career like Silva did…Cuz look, when you are a champ and go up in weight, win or lose you retain your belt
@ASCowns I enjoy watching GSP. If you can’t appreciate how awesome GSP is and how fun his fights are to watch then you arn’t an MMA fan, you are a knockout fan. different thing. GSP takes opponents down, passes guard actively and always looks for subs and I find that exciting. If you were arguing that fitch had boring fights then I’d agree but GsP? na.

GSP has a huge core strength that is un-matched by most 185 pound fighters. He could do well, and beat most of them. I don’t care what anyone tells me. An Anderson vs. GSP would be a really awesome fight. Not only are they both arguably the best in the world, but their styles match up very well for an “exciting” fight. GSP could easily make 185. I might give that fight to Anderson SIlva, but either way, it’s a great fight that Dana won’t consider for no good reason.
