Striped bass Fishing MA Crane Beach Ipswich Essex 5/07/10 not the first fish of the year but the first footage of the year. This is one of two fish this am one 29 inch fish (picture form only) and this 25/26 jumping striper. John Brown was with me but once more did not catch a fish.

Be careful if you try this! There are HUGE hammerheads that follow these schools of tarpon around. If they confused you for a tarpon or just got curious about what you tasted like, you’d be screwed!

@dyedm10number1fan buy the st.croix legend! i’m using a lamaglas here but it can’t cast plugs over 1 1/12 oz… for this time of year the lamaglas is ok but a st.croix legend will carry you longer into the fall and can cast lures from 1 oz to 4oz and works just as good if not better than the lamaglas.
Which surf rod you like the best. I am lookin to buy a surf rod either a st.croix legend or a lamaglas. It will be for plugs ,popper ect. nothing more than 2 1/2 ounces. Thanks

nice work – i’m freakin jealous… been pitching spoons and yozuri down here in southern Delaware… not a single hit yet after weeks of hard effort… while some decent stripers have been landed on the beach right beside me (bait fishermen)… for some reason they have not hit lures for me down here yet… and up your way water temps must be cooler and you got one on popper!
Way to Catch em. Looks like it’s picking up. Fishing down here in Florida has gotten better the last few weeks.
