Diving and Fishing in Potomac River Part1- Summer 2010

I fished often with my boys in the Potomac River off Algonkian Park, VA. 18 years later, I came back alone fished to Potomac River. I found that the water was clear enough for snorkeling and diving. So I made 8 snorkeling trips in August and September, 2010. I saw few big carp, big large mouth bass, big small mouth bass, big crappie, bluegill and forage. Unfortunately, I could not take videos of all fish I saw because I was out of breath, pressed the wrong button on the camera, and fish kept good distance from me.

    @chrislutz25 ,
    The water is now muddy after few days of intensive rain. Alss the water is too cold for me.
    I will get back next summer and explore different areas

    These are great videos. I’ve often thought of doing exactly this as the water was crystal clear most days this Summer. I do have a yak set up for diving so I’ll do it next Summer. I agree, that grass and algae is a pain, but is also a testament to how clean the river has gotten. Thanks for sharing, great footage!
