No he is not carving, he is extreme carving
The guy is making such a sharp turn that he is completely side ways. You can tell if someone is carving or not by simply looking at their tracks. If you notice this guys snowboard tracks have a really clean cut to them, if he was not carving then he tracks would not look as deep.
