bonnethead shark fishing

this is a good sized bonnethead shark, which is a type of hammerhead, that i have ever caught. he is not the longest, but he is the fattest and maybe the strongest. i wasn’t able to get a safe grip on the back of his neck, because of his size. this type of shark doesn’t get much bigger than this!!! we were fishing on a beautiful day unlike last weekend!! i caught him on a whole squid that i caught the night before in my cast net probably 12″ with tenticles!!

@lmrspartan leaving a hook embedded is the “preferred” method of professional fishing when the pulling the hook out means ripping out their tongue, lungs, or muscles in the jaw! Fishing hooks are made of 3 things, either mustad, nickel or stainless steel all which will rust and fall out. They are designed that way, to preserve the fish’s life. The fisherman loses a hook, big fucking deal, the fish keeps it’s life. You can pull the lungs out of YOUR throw backs, this kid did the right thing.

noob,56%of the deep hooked fish survive when the line is cut,11% when the hoook is removed

  12. Boba2388 says:

@Imrspartan you are the dumbest mother fucker out there u would cause more harm to the shark by pulling the hook out than by leaving it in shiver a hook on your mouth and the yank it out I guarantee it will hurt like fuck but if you leave it in the pain goes away. Dumbass

    i call that bait

  14. CashWatkins says:

@lmrspartan Shut the corm-meal fuck up, shithead. Nothing wrong with catch & release. If you don’t like it, go live IN the fucking ocean and “warn” all of the sharks….

this is a good, healthy and on the “larger” size bonnet head. I have never seen them get much larger than this one, in fact, this is the largest one that I seen caught in the surf. I’ve caught tons of them, mostly all smaller, and they seem to be over taking certain areas of the Florida coast line, like around Jacksonville Beach. It seems like even off the pier, or surf fishing there are bonnethead’s everywhere. hey have become a pain in the ass in some areas for anglers. This is a nice one!

@lmrspartan strength to tear tghe sharks face off, but i do whats best for the shark in the longrun, why dont you keep your bullshit ideas to yourself dickhead think outside the fukking box

  24. devolutionizreal says:

@lmrspartan yea ok well when it is so deep into his jaw and all those muscles its best to leave a piece of a small 2/0 non-stainless hook in there other than just pull and tear with all youve got till it rips through everything it’s punctured and then why don’t you try releasing it, see then if it swims away, a little inconvenience like that piece of a small hook is better than permanant damage or death you dickhead, maybe you think of it as a compitition to see whos manly enough and has enough
