California Wine Country

The diverse beauty of Sonoma is experienced as Equitrekking’s Emmy nominated host and equestrian travel expert Darley Newman horseback rides through Redwoods, a vineyard, crashing waves on Northern California beaches and the golden meadows of Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Darley fulfills many people’s dream by taking a beach ride on the dramatic Northern California Coast. Darley ventures among ‘old souls’ through the giant Redwoods of Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve on an eco-tour with naturalist Laura Ayers, whose intimate knowledge comes from growing up among these trees and raising and training Quarter Horses. At a local vineyard known for colorful equestrian history and award-winning Cabernets, Darley horseback rides through rows of grapes to learn about the art of wine making. Darley takes a bike tour through the small-town Sonoma. Equitrekking ends the episode with a sunset ride through the golden grasslands and colorful madrones of Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, with stunning views of Napa and Sonoma Valleys.

to me horse riding isn’t only a sport but a way of life
I have girls in my school that try to take the mick out of horse riding after i have a few words and show them a video or two they think it’s still easy? the next week i come in to school with a cast on. they now think differently.

  7. romeoiona says:

@StunnaShowjumper definitely! I’m twelve and recently in school, someone asked me if I did a sport. Of course I said, “yes, horseback riding.” well guess what they said? “that’s not a sport! You don’t do anything but sit.” I got so mad. I put him in his place.

  8. 123notoneme says:

    what is the song?

  9. fineIdareyou says:

    @EbnAddy

Amen to that, dude. Amen to that.

  10. EbnAddy says:

People can get killed (although its rare) and get very bad injuries from horse riding.
I have been brought up with horses and had my own horse all my life and if I havnt ridden for a little and I go riding the next day i can hardly walk, the muscles in my legs my stomach my shoulders kills me and thats only from flat work.
If equestrian wasnt a sport it wouldnt be at the olympics.

With what program do you do your videos?

  21. Bellabarrix1 says:

My brother doesn’t think this is a sport. Well I can tell him that it takes a lot more skill to control a horse than it does to catch a damn football.

  22. desertrider011 says:

  23. BarrelRacinSugar says:

  24. hollingmode says:

i’ve got fifteen years of experienc riding (i’m sixteeen now) and even after 16 years with horses they’re stil blumin frightening if they’re running at you full pelt.
and even after riding for fifteen years, my heart skips whenever i vault or jump over two foot cause its such a challenging sport. anyone who challenges that, really p*sses me off – Footy is so much harder, motorcross is so much mroe dangerous. casue riding a 200pond animal with an unpredictable mind of its own isnt hard haha!
