Copenhagen: City of Cyclists, Part 5 of 5: A fine farewell to the great city of Copenhagen. For work or play, young or old, rain or shine, one of the very best cycling communities in the world. Thanks to the City of Copenhagen for bringing us this program. Learn more and plan a visit! www.vejpark.kk.dk First is Leslie Reissner, enjoying springtime at the blooming of the cherry blossoms in Washington DC. We’ll visit with Leslie again in future programs. Then a rare find at the Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum – one of only five existing bicycles designed and built by the Wright Brothers shortly before their invention of the airplane!
No bicycles thieves?
…and she gets her great ass …from it
@naftush
Well, in 10 months i lived in CPH, i got 7(!) bikes stolen from me. 4 of them were locked, and 3 were in undrivable condition (broken wheels, punctured tires etc.), so… you have to look out for your bike.
I still managed to achieve that
V8 engines are for lame ducks the tough guys ride not just sit
I think DSB should decrease the price for Bike tickets and clipkards for S trains.
a nation of fat lazy obese people sipping gatorade loaded with Highfructosecornsyrup
Well there isnt that many really fat cyclists, but thats probably because the chances of getting really fat if you ride your bike every day is pretty slim
Welcome to China …. scrap the bikes, i´m keeping my V8
Those couriers aren’t allowed to ride faster than 30 km/h or they risk a speeding fine just like the kids who tune their mopeds (defined as a bicycle with a helping engine in Denmark).
No, their cameraman didn’t shoot Copenhagen’s fat cyclists. They exist, too. Also, he didn’t show you that most Copenhageners use only rudimentary bike locks and many don’t lock their bikes at all. I was told that thefts do occur but are not rampant. That’s the best sign imaginable of a bike culture.
i lived there for 6months
i loved that and i miss that so much
we should use more bikes in budapest, and have much more bikeroads
I also live in denmark and i havent really liked going by car, i like to cycle, it makes you fresh, and sometimes i´ll take my skateboard and skate around, but not so often, its harder and slower but its a nice feeling. i live in a little town there is like 1/10th of copenhagen but there is just as many bikes.
yes, it is very nice, fun, and good for your health and the environment. if i was overthere i would ride my bike everywhere i go, however, i live in ft.lauderdale,fl and the weather is HORRIBLE and HUMID and the streets are not safe for cyclist. If I live in seattle or new york then it would be a different story.
Nice! I would like see even one tenth of Copenhagen bicycle infrastructure here in Moscow. I live in city that mostly hates bikes. Cars, big SUVs rule this place
sure… and in the s-train as well
Cool!
can u take bikes inside the metro?
I love Copenhagen cycling culture – we need to spread it around the world!
omg .. I live in Copenhagen, and didn’t even notice this … I mean, it was fun to see Denmark from a foreign perspective, but apart from that it was business as always.
I never thought about how few fat people there were in the video.
They are there, offcourse, you just don’t see them much since they are sitting in the cars. *g*
Exactly Right!
I live in Denmark ,i juse my bicycle everyday?, and i love it!
I did’nt see one fat person!
very nice
I hope that will be also in bucharest-romania
I just watched the entire 5 part series. And I must say that I’m now seriously considering moving to Copenhagen. I think a culture that can thrive while moving people by bicycle is what the world needs. What an amazing documentary.
