Going Coastal host, Byron Velvick, makes his first trip to Alaska to the amazing fishing grounds at Elfin Cove. The fishing and adventure were so good that enough footage was generated for the two lead-off episodes for the 2010 season of Going Coastal. Byron gets to catch halibut, ling cod, rock fish and salmon with the crew of the Cove Lodge. Byron gets up close and personal with a brown bear while stream fishing for salmon. why people going so hard? i am a fucking angler, he has said nothing wrong, this is great info for beginners, but MY personal rule of thumb, i dont keep anything under a pound, or 14 inches
@InsertNameHeree And White people eat McDonalds. gross
@zczaldy Thanks
@InsertNameHeree Wow you are an expert on different races, I don’t know about all that since I havent, checked and compared as many as you obviously have, I bow to your personal knowledge. Good luck in the future my friend.
@zczaldy Ok fine not all asians eat all the fish they catch… But all of them have small dicks.
i think he is aiming this tute at complete beginners and children not for you seasoned anglers. i think anyone that has a way to film should make how to videos. Teach us your secrets. i always like to learn secret fishing tips. Also throw some up there for the kiddos too so we can teach em how it’s done. Some kid’s out there don’t have anyone to show ‘em. If you’re a kid get on here and teach us old dogs ‘sumpin new ; )
@nana53 Most fisherman/hunters/bushman/outdoors folks in general have a good sense of ethics and try to respect our natural resources. Part of that is causing as little suffering as is needed.
When harvesting your catch/prey. You have to be even more careful if its a catch and release situation. Do i ever feel sorry for my dinner? No
@shitface9696 I think that’s the next best way, but keeping them alive as long as possible. Means their fresh, fresh means the tastes is at it’s best. But like I said both ways seem to work great.
@InsertNameHeree I’m Asian and I don’t eat every kind of fish I catch. I love trout though. No i don’t eat carp,or mud dawbers, or any fish that looks unhealthy, or that I’m unfamiliar with. I’ve tried tuna, cod, salmon, halibut, Also I’ve ate with lots of Asians and they don’t eat any fish they catch. Have you ate with many. I and many others have brought home fish I wouldn’t eat for my cats. or for natural fertilizer.
WTF is that some kind of a joke. Chop the fish and put it into the cooler with ice thats all.
asian people eat any fish they catch.
Wen i go with my friends fishing i just take a bucket filled with water.
Works fine.
love your video’s im learning alot from them they are really helping me and don’t listen to the negative comments your doing good honest
I will keep a fish fresh in a box
Your video’s are all excellent. Keep up the good work and don’t pay attention to those negative dudes.
ohhhhh is that how you use a bucket?
you gut it then you eat it… ; ) hope that helped…
its common sense.. wth.. how will ever put it on the ground after you caught your fish..
How do I has bukkit?
fish don’t have a sense of touch, they can’t feel it
haha u dont know how to cook the fish u catch?
well u gotta gut it and clean and wash it and cook it hha
no duhh…….
Dude how do you cook fish you catch?
I’m sure he kills before cleaning, but keeping them alive as close as possible to cooking is best. I wouldn’t advise the bucket though as it causes more stress which affects the flavour.
Also, I try to keep stockies rather than wild and nothing over 12 inches.
FUCK YEAH STEWIE
yeah its stewie. thats awesome
Looking forward to your visit. We’ll make sure that we keep a big fish around for you.
This makes me excited for my return trip to the Cove Lodge this summer. Byron, try catching 4 Coho’s at once and landing them all! Ok, we did it with 4 people.
