Welcome to Carp France Fishery, Charente (16), South West France. After fishing many and varied French fisheries usually from a bivvy, using all kinds of rods, and rigs, coarse-fishing poles, baits, boilies, pellets and groundbaits, in swims all over France, I realised there were fishery’s that had big carp and cats, but very few carping or catfish angling waters which had quality rental holiday accommodation for the angler. So, in the late 1990′s I decided to supply anglers not only with the best-stocked fishing lakes in the country, but also the best facilities for their holidays in Charente, SW France. Bivvies and drive-survive are all very well, but they can’t beat holiday-home comforts after hard night fishing! We have two fishing lakes: Lac Lucie, which is a 3.5 acre specimen lake, at 5 acres, and Kingfisher Lake, with its Huge Carp up to 60lbs. and Big Catfish weighing 135lbs. plus. Both lakes – Kingfisher and Lac Lucie are booked on a sole usage basis, giving our fishers complete privacy to enjoy rural France. However, at Carp France we believe our carp fishermen deserve the very best. So, the holiday rental includes he use of a fully-equipped, private 5 star chalet and swimming pool. Set in the heart of the Charente National Forest, amid tranquil countryside, the pools date back to 1814 and are tree lined and full of features. These very natural looking carp lakes are the only fisheries to draw Chris Yates from his English fishing lakes, inspiring him to write …

What’s the biggest rainbow trout you’ve ever caught?
@fishermen4life1 This is a pretty common method used for all lakes that are stocked with catchable rainbow trout. If you are in Vancouver, lakes that are worth trying with this method include: Sasamat Lake, Buntzen Lake, Deer Lake, Lafarge Lake, Como Lake, Rice Lake, Mill Lake, Browning Lake, Green Timbers Lake, Alice Lake, Brohm Lake, Edith Lake. Check out our website as well as the blog section to read more about it.
is this lake common to catch fishing casting off shore, or can you pretty much go to any lake and cast spoons for a while??
There are a dozen or so lakes around Vancouver that provide stocked rainbow trout fishery such as this one in the video. This particular lake is Edith Lake in Squamish. Other lakes include Alice Lake, Rice Lake, Como Lake, Lafarge Lake, Green Timbers Lake, Mill Lake, Sasamat Lake, Buntzen Lake, Rolley Lake, Whonnock Lake. If you go to our website, click on articles, then “Region 2 fishing locations”, you will find information on all of these lakes.
I used to live in Vancouver, but I am currently in New Jersey.
Could someone PM me with the names of theses lakes and their locations?
i love trout fishing with spoons
no its basicly right under the surface and the trout come up because its shiny then they exlode on your lure
… thats horrible advice.
Let the drag slip. It gives you room should the fish decide to take off, your line wont break.
Do you let the lure go all the way to the bottom?
what just a lure no 3 ways????? i wanna start catching them that quick
Just casting a small spoon.
You can find out more about fishing at our upcoming event “Fish for the Future” on July 11th in Steveston. Look for info on our website.
hey im new to fishing and ive been to edith lots but ive not really had any luck do you use a down rig for edith???
Yes.
hey is this at edith lake?????
Tighten your drag and you will not lose the fish. The drag slipped when you set the hook.
going their tomorrow
Hello Rod, great video’s you have. Stocked ponds are great to fish with kids and your family. One thing to point out folks is to watch how Rod is keeping a low profile, he is hiding beside that tree kneeling low to the ground.
He is out of sight of the fish which is key to not spooking fish stocked or not stocked. His odds greatly improve with this tactic.
Excellent video’s Rod, keep up the good work !!
lol i went fishing in a small about 1/8 of a foot ball field and cought 7 trout in 8 minuts using wolly buggers. lol but fell in the water. the longest was about 15 inches.
I flyfish on a stocked lake lots of fun
hey, I’m going flyfishing next weekend I went on saturday but didn’t catch anything, but my favorite spot will be ice free next weekend
nice one
We were just using these regular 1/8oz nickel plated spoons with a stripe of powder paint (either orange, blue, green or purple) that I have applied on them. There is a photo of it in the latest entry of our website’s blog right now.
spoon of choice?
