This is my second video of the Baltimore Orioles that feed in my yard. I bought a new feeder that holds an orange and has four ports for jelly along with the 4 sugar water ports. I use grape jelly and they just love it. I can fill the four ports up everyday and they eat it all. I didn’t have much luck with the orange though and don’t put one out there anymore. There is a special guest that appears midway through the video, a Ruby Throated Hummingbird that came to check out the new feeder. They can feed from this feeder also because I use the same sugar water I put in the Hummingbird feeder. This feeder is much nicer than the first I purchased. This one is so easy to clean and fill and has the other options for food. Here is a link to my first Baltimore Oriole video: www.youtube.com The background song is from Kevin MacLeod and called “Rains Will Fall”. Here is his website: www.incompetech.com More info on Baltimore Orioles: The Baltimore Oriole, Icterus galbula, is a small icterid blackbird which is on average 18 cm long and weighs 34 g. This bird received its name from the fact that the male’s colors resemble those on the coat-of-arms of Lord Baltimore. At one time, this species and the Bullock’s Oriole, Icterus bullockii, were considered to be a single species, the Northern Oriole. The Baltimore Orioles, a Major League Baseball team in Baltimore, Maryland, were named after this bird. It is also the state bird of Maryland. Adults have a pointed bill and white bars on the …

@Meethyee Awe! I hate seeing birds get taken like that. I have seen a couple taken from my yard like that but it is Natures way I guess. I’m glad that your friend had the chance to enjoy the Oriole for awhile though
Thanks for your comment.
I live in Nova Scotia, in Cape Breton. Orioles dont usally come here but my friend had one at his feeder for a while but a hawk got it.

@0267m Hello, I wish i would get some Grossbeaks… haven’t seen any to my feeders yet. I have not had problems with wasps or bees. Of course you may see one here or there which I have but as of now no real problems with masses visiting the feeder. Last year I put an Oriole feeder out late in the season and did not get any. This year I put it out at first sighting and I noticed I had them the next day.. Good luck!
Very nice, reminds me of the male grossbeak that comes around here except for the diffent beak. Think I’ll look for a feeder, do you have any problems with wasps or bees? How long was it until your oriole came when you put your feeder out. Thank you for sharing.
@magiq1 It is amazing what Mother Nature offers us! Just like your Rainbow.. Thanks for stopping by..

It was a little shocking for me also to see them eat the jelly at first.. They gobble it down though everyday! Nice story about your Grandpa.. Thanks for your visit.
Dear Chris, What an amazing sight.. The Orioles are fantastic and really like your new feeder.. Its remarkable that they eat jelly…The other Humming Bird visitor adds the extra flavour to the video.. I am sure you must be really happy to see these amazing birds in your garden..It’s a pleasure for me too…
Many thanks for your superb videos…
Geez, these birds have the strangest of eating habits! Grape jelly?!!I never would have imagined… That is just too weird:D Even the special guest was like, “Grape jelly?!!” My grandfather loved grape jelly, he used to steal those little packets
from restaurants…I will think of him when I see a baltimore oriole from now on:DD
