ummm well idk if my way is the right way but i just set up a proportion. i recorded a video of the ball close up so i could see the finger holes clearly. then i put it into a video editing program and progressed the video frame by frame. seein how much time it takes for the ball to go one revolution. then set up a proportion:

lets say the ball went 1 revolution in .5 seconds. the proportion would be:
1 / .5 = x / 60 then solve for x in this case equaling 120 rpm. hope this helped
