Going Coastal host, Byron Velvick, makes his first trip to Alaska to the amazing fishing grounds at Elfin Cove. The fishing and adventure were so good that enough footage was generated for the two lead-off episodes for the 2010 season of Going Coastal. Byron gets to catch halibut, ling cod, rock fish and salmon with the crew of the Cove Lodge. Byron gets up close and personal with a brown bear while stream fishing for salmon. I was fortunate enough to work for Gordy and The Cove Lodge as a Deckhand; easily the best summer of my life. Next time I go back to Alaska it will be as a guest at The Cove Lodge.
Everytime I visit the Cove Lodge, I catch more fish than we can even possibly take home. I can’t wait for my trip this summer. Bringing the whole family this time.
