These organizations made me love baseball and I am trully grateful to those 2 81′ teams.

@LADodgersdominate I got no problem with that, Cause they can’t do anything about it. Yankees and Dodgers met 11 times in the WS. The Yankees won 8 of them. :)

@Noosic Read this and shut up. sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1012916/1/index.htm

  7. greatsanchini says:

@Noosic No, it’s not ok. So, you’re saying Piazza orchestrated this in order to end up in New York? Then why did they wait a week to trade him, and why did they wait 2 months to trade Zeile? It was all set up this way? A Sports Illustrated article from the time made it clear that Piazza didn’t want to go anywhere. You’re bitching about hard information? Where’s yours? What’s your source? More inside info you got AS AN INTERN? You’ve been shown to be an idiot. Now give it up, intern.

  8. Noosic says:

@ckendall67 Once again. The Florida thing was a set-up for him to go to the Mets. We ALL KNOW he went to Florida on a multi-player deal but it was SET UP for him to get to the Mets. THAT is where he wanted to go. Ok?

  9. greatsanchini says:

Mike Piazza played 5 games for Florida. How is that an opinion? That’s a fact. It was not a three-team trade. I can quote the Baseball Almanac if you’d like, but what difference would it make? I’m still right, and you’re still pathetic. An intern in marketing? So, News Corp execs came to YOU with such sensitive dealings? An intern? How is it that you don’t suffocate, with your head so far up your ass? Shut YOUR hole. You talk, but you say nothing.

  10. ckendall67 says:

@Noosic NO, the Dodgers did trade Piazza to the Marlins, who then traded Piazza to the Mets the following week…..

  11. Noosic says:

@rayjr62 I really hope you weren’t born in ’62 . You sound so young.

  12. Noosic says:

@greatsanchini . You quote “Wikipedia???” It is OPINION at best. I worked for News Corp from 1993 to 2001 and was there as an intern in marketing. Piazza went to the METS by way of Florida making as they say in the business “His own trade” Before you start insulting people maybe you should find better resources then ” Wikipedia” My advice is to shut your hole unless you REALLY know what you are talking about and cite HARD information. Wikipedia, unbelievable.

  13. Noosic says:

rayjr62, grow up. “Bitch slap” is so….90′s

  14. rayjr62 says:

@Noosic LOL- Noosic got bitch slapped.

  15. snowraceplay says:

Yep, those were the best Dodgers EVER!! 3 MVP’S for the first and last time ever!!

  16. Jiltedin2007 says:

Fernando was the main reason for the Dodgers winning the World Series in 1981. Down 0-2 to the Yankees in the World Series, Fernando beat the Yankees in Game 3 by pitching a game that Dodger Fans are still talking about today!

“Fernando Valenzuela pitched the guttiest game of his life! He was like a Poker Player bluffing through a Bad Hand”. Tommy Lasorda on Fernando Valenzuela’s Game 3 performance in defeating the Yankees.

  17. greatsanchini says:

@Noosic “He played six seasons for the Dodgers until he was traded to the Florida Marlins on May 15, 1998. Piazza and Todd Zeile went to the Marlins in return for Gary Sheffield, Charles Johnson, Bobby Bonilla, Manuel Barrios, and Jim Eisenreich.”

The above was copied and pasted from Wikipedia. Check for yourself.

Noosic – you are the reason why siblings should not marry. Next time check your facts before announcing your ignorance to the world.

  18. Noosic says:

    @greatsanchini
The Dodgers traded Piazza to the Mets genius.

  19. greatsanchini says:

The Dodgers died the day the O’Malleys sold the team. It became obvious the day Fox Television, not Dodger baseball operations, but Fox Television, traded Mike Piazza to Florida in hopes of getting their local television rights.

These were the days when the Dodgers were still a classy organization, and Dodger Stadium was cholo-free.

  20. arfendarf says:

nice song PUTO!!!!!! Typical Dodger fan………

  21. tonythetigerII says:

Games 1 % 2 were almost granted to the yNAKEES BEFOREHAND. rEMEBER THE dodgers came from playing ten days straight. Two decisive playoffs games against Houston and Montreal; the last one the day before Game 1.
How I suffered in Game 3 with Fernando. Then he came back . Game 4 the following afternoon was bat-fest. Game 5, majestic. Two pitching gems by Guidry and Reuss; then the back to back homers by Yeager and Guerrero. Game 6 was icing on the cake , though I wanted to see Valenzuela for G7.

  22. louthebody says:

    @TheMrsethman17 Not now. :)

  23. TheMrsethman17 says:

@louthebody the dodgers are the best

  24. louthebody says:

I’m a Yankee fan and I’ll never forget this series. Freakin’ Dodgers! I hate them. :)
