Esther Sample Winning Conservation Artist 2012-2013 “Hunger Strikes” Because 1989, Pacific Salmon Foundation and Fisheries and Oceans Canada have been operating together to assistance salmon and stewardship through the annual Salmon Conservation Stamp and Competition. Any angler must acquire a new stamp every year and affix it to their tidal water license if they wish to retain any species of salmon. .00 of the proceeds from the sale of every single conservation stamp is contributed to PSF to aid support salmon restoration and enhancement efforts in BC. PSF also produces and sells restricted edition prints of the winning painting each year to additional help fundraising for conservation initiatives. These funds are what forms the base of the Community Salmon Program. If you saltwater fish for salmon in BC, you are a contributor to the conservation and restoration of salmon by means of the efforts of PSF. Hosted by PSF, the 24th Annual Salmon Conservation Stamp Art Competition was won by Esther Sample’s entry, “Hunger Strikes”. Be sure to buy your BC saltwater fishing license to get your 2012 — 2013 conservation stamp.

www.reefari.com The spanish mackerel Shootout fishing competition was on once again, and reefari a keen sponsor and of course keen to put a crew together for a fish for the weekend. Fishig competitions are excellent fun, and excellent way to get keen fisherfolk out on the water for a bit of sport. The annual Spanish Mackerel shootout is run my the Mackay Game fishing club, and highlights the excellent Spanish Mackerel fishing Mackay has. Usually July via to September is prime Spanish mackerel time, and wonderful fishing amongst the neighborhood islands and Whitsunday islands. Make positive you check out our other fishing videos with heaps of wonderful how to catch these excellent sportsfish. The weather forecast wasn’t the kindest unfortunately, so numbers had been down, but we still had a excellent turnout considering. Reef fish were also available to be weighed in, so our program was to target Spanish Mackerel and have a reef fish as properly for Red Emperor, Nannygai and Coral trout. Despite the 15-20knot forecast it was still great to see 102 anglers register for the competition. The honor of catching the greatest Spanish Mackerel this year (and 00 money) went to Shaun Tencate from “Team Tackleworld” who bagged himself a monstrous 30.00kg Spanish Mackerel.
