Texas Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler will appeal his one-game suspension, imposed Tuesday for taking part in an on-field celebration after being ejected. Kinsler also was fined an undisclosed amount by Major League Baseball. The penalty was set to take effect for Tuesday night’s game against the Detroit Tigers, but Kinsler remained in the lineup pending a resolution.

Rangers join race for Brewers’ Fielder
The Rangers have joined the fray for Prince Fielder. The White Sox and Angels are also interested in acquiring the Brewers’ slugging first baseman, who isn’t a free agent until after next year and is batting .262 with 24 home runs and 46 RBIs this season.
