Chris Bosh had 22 points and 16 rebounds, and Jose Calderon had a career-high 16 assists and 18 points for the Raptors (14-10), who overcame a 17-point third-quarter deficit. The Raptors took their first lead of the game, 81-80, on Kapono’s three-pointer with nine minutes left. After a quick trip to the hospital, Chris Bosh walked into the Toronto Raptors dressing room and delivered the lone bit of good news for the night. In the wake of a right knee injury to the all-star forward and a dreadful performance by the Raptors in a 122-111 loss to the short-handed Indiana Pacers Friday before a sellout crowd of 19800 at the Air Canada Centre, Bosh said he does not expect the setback to be a major hindrance. “It’s alright,” said Bosh, who exited the game late in the first quarter. “It feels good when I’m walking around. Walking around and playing in a game are two different things. But I’m real optimistic about everything.” A team spokesman said diagnostic testing at Mount Sinai Hospital showed Bosh did not have any structural damage. Bosh, who tweaked the knee Monday in a win in Indiana, will undergo normal treatment in the next few days and expects to accompany the team on a three-game road swing that starts Sunday in Charlotte against the Bobcats. [ ] “I think I know my body now,” said Bosh, who missed five games with a strained right groin earlier this season and was hobbled by a left knee injury in the pre-season. “I’ve had things similar to this. I know if I take care of it, it will be fine real soon.” The Raptors (32-25), meanwhile, weren’t even close to fine without Bosh on Friday. Toronto’s three-game winning streak came to an end, despite a 27-point night from up-and-down sophomore Andrea Bargnani. The Pacers (23-36) snapped their

Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers (105 – 96) April 3, 2010

Dwyane Wade goes off for 43 points along with nine rebounds and six assists as the Heat defeat the Pacers in overtime. Wade lights up Pacers with 43 points as Heat win 7th in row By John Oehser, for NBA.com Posted Friday April 2, 2010 11:06PM INDIANAPOLIS (NBA.com exclusive) — The Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers each entered Friday among the NBA’s hot teams. The Indiana Pacers don’t have Dwyane Wade. The Miami Heat do. And although there were other factors in the Heat’s season-high seventh consecutive victory, there were no more important — and certainly no more spectacular — reasons the Heat beat the Pacers 105-96 in overtime in front of 16787 at Conseco Fieldhouse on Friday night. “We didn’t want it to be one of those games we regret,” Wade, who on Friday was named the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Month for March, said following his fourth game of the season with at least 40 points. “Coming out in the third quarter, I wanted to put it on my shoulders and make sure I attacked and showed my teammates what it’s about,” Wade said. “This is winning time right now. We didn’t want to lose this game and regret it later.” Wade, after a spectacular third quarter, turned in a game-turning performance in overtime, scoring eight of the Heat’s 16 points in the extra period. Wade finished with 43 points, nine rebounds and six assists. “Wade showed why he’s one of the top three players in the league,” Pacers coach Jim O’Brien said. “We just didn’t have enough to stop them

Jermaine O’Neal grabbed the game ball when the final buzzer sounded, marching off the court with an obvious sense of purpose. But the ball wasn’t a memento of a victory over his former team, it was a gift for Jay Triano. A well-deserved game for coach, O’Neal said afterward. Triano finally earned his first victory as the Toronto Raptors head coach – and thus, the first victory by a Canadian head coach in the NBA – with a 101-88 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. He’s in a tough situation where he’s trying to change some things that we were doing, and he didn’t have very much practice time, but he kept at it, he’s been extremely positive with the team and it was well-deserved, O’Neal said. Jason Kapono scored a season-high 25 points, as the Raptors (9-12) also halted their season-long losing streak at five games. Chris Bosh added 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Jamario Moon had 17 points, Jose Calderon had 11 points and 14 assists, and Joey Graham added 12 points. O’Neal finished with 10 points and nine rebounds in the first game between the two teams since the off-season trade that brought the six-time all-star to Toronto for TJ Ford and Rasho Nesterovic. The Raptors promoted Triano to interim head coach a week ago to replace Sam Mitchell, making the Niagara Falls, Ont., native the first Canadian-born coach in the NBA. The 50-year-old led the Raptors to a win over New Jersey last season with Mitchell away on a family matter, but the game officially went on
