The Minnesota Timberwolves made Kevin Garnett their first round draft choice — 5th pick overall — in the 1995 NBA Draft at the SkyDome in Toronto. Garnett became the first player in 20 years to jump from high school straight to the NBA. He would face a blitz of criticisms and doubters, people predicting that he would fail miserably. How wrong they were.
